I've finally been tagged for something! Thanks, Laura. And I'm actually relieved that the book I have to quote from isn't one for teenagers.

The Rules:

*Grab the nearest book.
*Open the book to page 56.
*Find the FIFTH sentence.
*Post the text of the next two to five sentences in your blog along with these instructions.
*Don’t dig for your favorite book, the cool book, or the intellectual one; pick the CLOSEST.
*Tag five other people to do the same

So here it is:

Your brother?

Rooster was great too, loves LA, the weather. You should see him tooling around in his convertible, Mr. Hollywood agent. Yep, Rooster's great. Everything's great, it really was. Bruce said to say hello.

It's from I Smile Back by Amy Koppelman and I heard about her on Whatever because she's Jennifer Koppelman's sister-in-law. Because I love Jennifer, I splurged (I'm so crazy!) and bought it on Amazon along with her newst novel and the book that Amazon said most people buy with it (I fell for their sales ploy). Unfortunately, I'm having a really hard time getting through it and decided to reread those teen books instead of finishing it.

Essentially, it's a story about a woman who is married to an adoring husband with two adorable kids in the "perfect" neighborhood who also has a secret drug and sex addiction. Sounds good, right? Except *shocker* it's really depressing. Instead of feeling sorry for this woman I find myself wanting to spank her (and not in a fun way). I'm going to try it again after this month's book club selection just because I've invested in this author and am annoyed with myself.

How's that for a review?!

Now for the tagging:

I used to listed to Whatever EVERY DAY. Back when it was on from 12-2. My former assistant and I used to love it. We'd listen to Howard until noon, then A and J until 2, then either leave it on MS or go back to HS.
For some reason I just don't love Whatever as much as I used to. I get really annoyed when Alexis speaks really low and mumbles (which happens often). I also feel like they have too many "inside" jokes that they don't share with the listener. Kind of like they're talking to each other and not sharing with the listener. Makes me appreciate Howard Stern and the gang all the more. They really do a great job making the listeners feel like they're part of the "club".
Except I can't spend $800 on a bottle of wine!! Did you hear that yesterday?
And to think Robin would have the nerve to whine about a dozen cookies for $28!!! Hmph.
Anyway, I had no idea Jennifer's SIL was a writer. Is that the sister married to Brian (he's so great)?
I'll have to check it out.
What a rambling comment!

Robin KILLS me. SHe's so full of crap sometimes (I love the music they play when she comes on) but I still love her.

I like Alexis because I LOVE the fact that someone like her came out of Martha! Snobbiness aside, I even like when she's judgemental and grouchy. I do know what you mean about the inside jokes, but I'm still a fan. Yes, that SIL is Brian's wife. What a family!

If you have a Whole Foods, they carry DuFours.
My friend in NYC gets it at the regular grocery store. (but that's NYC)
Oh and the Robin songs are awesome.
Release Robin's bra, release Robin's bra so I can see those brown tata's!!
hehehehe!!

All I have to say is that I am beyond pissed off and disappointed in the way our business was portrayed on the show this morning.
Please let me know how you took the whole thing. I'd like to know another HS fans perspective on how my company looked this morning.
If you have no idea what I'm talking about I'll email you later today.

YES! I was annoyed too. I know the old saying goes "any publicity is good publicity" and I'm sure a lot of people have checked you out that didn't know about you. But I think I would consider severing the Lisa G ties. THose cookies are fanTASTIC but why should you get talked about (indirectly as it is) this way after all that work and good intention? I'm pissed on your behalf.

I'll try to get an email off to you tomorrow.
Seriously considering the contract renewal. You haven't even heard the half of it!!!

I promise to do a post about the history of our house/train station and we're all set for it to arrive on the 11th or the 12th.

Oh good (on both counts). My laptop has been doing flakey things and only about 1/2 the emails I sent arrived. Weird.

Groovy!

Oh yeah, and I'm sending you a Steven Singer gold dipped rose.
Who buys these? honestly I cringe every time I hear Robin say how much she loves hers. I also tell D that if he ever gives me one, he's voted off the island!
How' bout those black boxes that make a woman cre@#my? Yet another brilliant commercial that makes me vomit a little in my mouth every time??!!

I guess that I'd better cancel my order with Steven Singer. Sorry, Jen, no gold dipped rose this year.
